  • Will there be teaching witchcraft or ancestral healing on this retreat?

While we will honour the Pendle witches & their roots, this isn’t a retreat that involves ancestral healing and we won’t be casting spells or covering the religion of Wicca or witchcraft. We believe that the Pendle witches were unfairly persecuted when they were actually innocent medicine women skilled in herbal arts. We will connect to earth magic in the form of foraging for herbs and connecting with nature during this retreat in homage to the witches.

Will we learn about the Pendle witches?

Yes! Although this isn’t a history retreat, we will have some facts to share during our day trip and we will provide books about the witches that you can read at your leisure during your stay.

How difficult is the walking part?

We will be climbing Pendle Hill - although it’s not a mountain, it’s not a super easy walk. We will be taking breaks to catch our breath, as well as a picnic, but the endorphins and the view you will see at the top are worth it! There is the option of an alternative easier route for those who would like it.

Is there public transport to the retreat/car parking?

The nearest train stations are Colne or Burnley. You can then book a 7 minute (Colne) or 20 minute (Burnley) taxi to the retreat as there is no public transport to Coldwell - we recommend Pendle Taxis (01282 693693). We will be creating a WhatsApp group so you may be able to car share or get a lift from the station. There is plenty of parking onsite for those who are driving.
